Target Information
Anti-sperm antibodies are correlated with cases of unexplained infertility, suggesting a role in blocking fertilization. This protein is recognized by anti-sperm antibodies from infertile men and localizes to the tail of human sperm. It contains eight armadillo repeats involved in protein-protein interactions. Mouse studies indicate involvement in sperm flagellar motility and structural integrity. Alternatively spliced variants producing different isoforms have been described.
