Target Information
Catalyzes the conversion of GTP to GDP through hydrolysis of the gamma-phosphate bond in GTP. Exhibits intrinsic GTPase activity stimulated by ZC3H15/DFRP1 binding, possibly by increasing potassium ion affinity. When hydroxylated at Lys-22 by JMJD7, may bind RNA and participate in translation. Binds microtubules, promoting polymerization and stability required for mitotic spindle assembly during prophase to anaphase. GTPase activity is not necessary for microtubule-related functions.
