Target Information
CD44는 100 kDa의 type I transmembrane glycoprotein으로, 인간 백혈구, 뇌의 백질, 장 및 유방의 일부 상피세포에서 널리 발현됩니다. CD44는 hyaluronic acid(HA)의 수용체로 작용하며, 세포 간 상호작용, 부착 및 이동에 관여합니다. 또한 림프구 활성화, 순환 및 호밍 등 다양한 세포 기능에 참여합니다.
CD44 발현은 일부 암종에서 증가할 수 있으며, 이는 전이 가능성과 관련이 있을 수 있습니다. CD44는 조혈세포, 비조혈세포, 상피조직 및 각질형성세포의 filopodia에서 발현됩니다. 골수의 골수세포와 기억 T세포는 높은 수준의 CD44를 발현하며, 말초 B 및 T세포는 특정 자극에 반응하여 CD44 발현을 증가시킬 수 있습니다.
CD44 유전자의 전사는 복잡한 대체 스플라이싱을 거쳐 다양한 기능적 이소폼을 생성하며, 일부 변이체의 전체 길이는 아직 규명되지 않았습니다. 이러한 대체 스플라이싱은 CD44 단백질의 구조적·기능적 다양성의 기초가 됩니다.
CD44 이상과 관련된 질환으로는 표재성 각막염과 경화태선이 있으며, 종양 전이 형성과도 관련이 있을 수 있습니다.
