Target Information
EPHB2 is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the ephrin receptor family. Members of the Eph family play key roles in nervous system development, angiogenesis, and synapse formation and maturation.
Ephrins are divided into two classes: ephrin-A (EFNA), anchored to the membrane by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol linkage, and ephrin-B (EFNB), which are transmembrane proteins.
Eph receptors are grouped based on extracellular domain sequence similarity and ligand binding affinities. They constitute the largest subgroup of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs).
EphB4 binds to ephrin-B2 and is essential for vascular development.
