Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the DNAJ protein family, characterized by a highly conserved amino acid stretch called the J-domain. These proteins function as molecular chaperones involved in various cellular processes such as protein folding and oligomeric complex assembly. DNAJB6 may also play a role in polyglutamine aggregation in specific neurons. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, not all of which are fully characterized.
