Description:
The X2/45-12 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human IL-4 receptor alpha chain (CD124), crucial for IL-4 binding and signal transduction. Both IL-4 and IL-13 utilize this receptor component to activate common signaling pathways.

Applications Reported:

• Flow cytometric analysis
• Neutralization of human IL-4 function

Applications Tested:
Validated for flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage ≤1 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell count per test should be empirically determined (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Optimize antibody titration for best assay performance.

Target Information

IL4 Receptor alpha (IL4RA) is the alpha chain of the interleukin-4 receptor, binding both IL-4 and IL-13 to regulate IgE production, chemokine and mucus secretion in allergic inflammation. It promotes Th2 differentiation. The soluble extracellular domain (sIL4R alpha) inhibits IL-4-mediated proliferation and IL-5 upregulation by T-cells but lacks signaling capability. Allelic variations in IL4RA are associated with atopic conditions such as allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, asthma, and eczema.
