ANKRD16 단백질은 serine(Ser)의 잘못된 활성화를 방지하여 tRNA(Ala)와의 오결합을 막고 번역의 정확성을 유지하는 역할을 합니다.
이 단백질은 AARS/AlaRS의 촉매 도메인에 직접 결합하여 잘못 활성화된 Ser를 포획함으로써, Ser adenylate가 tRNA(Ala)에 결합되는 것을 방지하고 nascent peptide 내 Ser의 오삽입을 차단합니다.
