Target Information
FMR1 단백질은 RNA에 결합하며, 폴리솜(polysome)과 연관되어 있습니다. 이 단백질은 핵에서 세포질로의 mRNA 이동에 관여할 수 있습니다. 5' UTR의 삼염기 반복(trinucleotide repeat)은 정상적으로 6~53회 반복되지만, 55~230회로 확장될 경우 취약 X 증후군(fragile X syndrome)의 원인이 됩니다. 이러한 반복 확장은 조기 난소 부전(premature ovarian failure)의 한 형태를 유발할 수도 있습니다. 다양한 세포 위치에 존재하는 여러 대체 스플라이싱 전사체가 보고되어 있습니다.
