Target Information
The WNT gene family encodes secreted signaling proteins involved in oncogenesis and developmental processes such as cell fate regulation and embryonic patterning.
This gene encodes a protein showing 95%, 86%, and 71% amino acid identity to mouse, zebrafish, and Xenopus Wnt8B proteins, respectively. Expression is restricted to the developing brain, and the gene is located at chromosome 10q24, suggesting a possible link to partial epilepsy.
