Target Information
This gene is located in the surfeit gene cluster, a group of tightly linked housekeeping genes that do not share sequence similarity. It is oriented head-to-head with RPL7A (SURF3), sharing a bidirectional promoter. The encoded proteins localize to the cytoplasm, and two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
