Target Information
MAGE-D2 (Melanoma-associated antigen D2)는 MAGE 도메인을 가진 melanoma antigen encoding gene (MAGE) 패밀리에 속합니다. Rat과 mouse orthologue가 존재하며, MAGE-A, MAGE-B, MAGE-C 군과 달리 광범위하게 발현됩니다. 특히 뇌의 특정 영역과 고환 간질(interstitium)에서 높은 발현을 보입니다.
정확한 기능은 완전히 규명되지 않았으나, X-연관 지적 장애(X-linked mental retardation)와 관련된 유전자 영역으로 알려져 있습니다. 또한 MAGE-D2는 유방암, 위암 및 간세포암에서 역할을 가질 가능성이 있으며, p53과 물리적으로 상호작용하여 그 활성을 조절하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
