Product Specific Information

The M1/70 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD11b, a 165–170 kDa integrin alphaM that associates with CD18 to form Mac-1 (αMβ2 integrin). It binds to CD54 (ICAM-1), C3bi, and fibrinogen, and is expressed on macrophages, NK cells, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, and mouse B-1 cells.
M1/70 also cross-reacts with human CD11b and detects this antigen on human peripheral blood monocytes, granulocytes, and NK cell subsets.
CD11b participates in adhesive cell interactions through binding with its ligands.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Flow cytometry with mouse bone marrow cells, ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Careful titration recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

CD11b (integrin alpha-M, ITGAM) forms a heterodimer with CD18 (integrin beta-2), known as Mac-1 or CR3.
Expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, NK cells, dendritic cells, and microglia.
Functions as a receptor for ICAM-1, ICAM-2, ICAM-4, CD14, CD50, CD23, heparin, iC3b, fibrinogen, and Factor X.
Expression varies by tissue and increases during monocyte maturation.
Used as a microglial marker in nervous tissue.
Associated with systemic lupus erythematosus and ITGAM-related susceptibility.
