Target Information
ACKR1 (also known as DARC) is an atypical chemokine receptor that regulates chemokine levels and localization through high-affinity binding. Unlike classical receptors, it does not trigger signal transduction but mediates chemokine sequestration, degradation, or transcytosis.
ACKR1 interacts with inflammatory chemokines from both CXC and CC subfamilies, but not with homeostatic chemokines. It also serves as a receptor for chemokines such as CCL2, CCL5, CCL7, CCL11, CCL13, CCL14, CCL17, CXCL5, CXCL6, IL8/CXCL8, CXCL11, GRO, RANTES, MCP-1, TARC, and for malaria parasites P. vivax and P. knowlesi.
