Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) family, specifically the PDE7 subfamily. This enzyme hydrolyzes cAMP, a key second messenger regulating numerous cellular responses to extracellular signals. By modulating intracellular cAMP levels, PDE7A plays an important role in various physiological processes. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
