Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) family, specifically the PDE7 subfamily. This enzyme hydrolyzes cAMP, a key second messenger involved in numerous cellular responses to extracellular signals. By regulating intracellular cAMP levels, PDE7A plays a critical role in various physiological processes. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
