Product Specific Information
Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material. After reconstitution, keep aliquots at -20 °C for higher stability, and at 4 °C with an appropriate antibacterial agent. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles. Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability.
Target Information
This gene belongs to the neurotrophic factor family (neurotrophins) that control survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. Expression is ubiquitous and less influenced by environmental signals. Knock-outs of other neurotrophins (NGF, BDNF, NT3) are lethal during early postnatal development, while NTF5-deficient mice show minor cellular deficits and develop normally to adulthood.
