Target Information
Dapper homolog 1 (DACT1), an ortholog of Xenopus Dpr, antagonizes Wnt signaling by promoting Dvl degradation through a lysosome inhibitor-sensitive and proteasome inhibitor-insensitive mechanism.
DACT1 interacts with Dvl via the DEP domain, involving the central and C-terminal regions of DACT1.
The human DACT1 gene is located on chromosome 14q23.1.
This protein impedes CTNNB1/beta-catenin degradation, enhancing transcriptional activation of Wnt signaling target genes.
It is essential for normal notochord formation and is downregulated in hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC).
DACT1 is expressed in human liver and various other tissues.
