This antibody detects endogenous levels of total ADAM12 protein.
Target Information
ADAM12 belongs to the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease-like domain) family. Two forms of ADAM12 have been described: ADAM12S and ADAM12L (short and long forms).
- The short form (ADAM12S) is soluble and lacks transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
- The long form (ADAM12L) is membrane-bound.
ADAM12S has been reported to promote myogenesis, suggesting distinct regulatory pathways, although both forms can be expressed in the same tissue.
