MC5R (Melanocortin 5 Receptor)는 melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH) 및 adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)의 작용을 매개하며, adenylate cyclase를 활성화합니다. 이 수용체는 뇌 및 말초 조직에서 체온 조절, 면역 조절, 식욕 조절, 성 행동 등 다양한 생리 기능을 조절합니다. MC5R은 뇌하수체, 외분비선, 생식 기관, 폐, 신장, 식도 등 여러 조직에서 발현된 것으로 보고되었습니다. 인간 EST는 아직 분리되지 않았습니다.
