MM701 targets IFN gamma in ELISA, IHC(F), Neu, and WB applications and shows reactivity with mouse samples.
The MM701 immunogen is recombinant mouse IFN gamma.
MM701 detects IFN gamma with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 16 kDa.
This antibody is produced by injecting Rat IgG secreting hybridoma cells into the peritoneum of mice, followed by ascites collection and purification.
Endotoxin level is ≤10 EU/mg as determined by LAL assay.

Target Information

Interferon gamma (IFNγ, Type II interferon) is a macrophage activation factor produced mainly by T-lymphocytes and NK cells in response to antigens and cytokines.
It is a dimeric glycoprotein composed of two 146 amino acid subunits (functional homodimer ~45 kDa).
On SDS-PAGE, IFNγ appears as 25, 20, and minor 15.5 kDa bands due to differential glycosylation.
Biological activity is species-specific; human IFNγ does not cross-react with mouse IFNγ.
Functions include:

• Antiviral and tumor antiproliferative activity
• Induction of MHC class I and II
• Macrophage activation
• Enhanced immunoglobulin secretion by B cells

IFNγ acts via IFNγ receptor I/II and JAK-STAT signaling pathway.
It shares ~40% sequence homology between human and mouse IFNγ.
Upregulated by IL2, FGF basic, EGF; downregulated by vitamin D3 or DMN.
Mutations in the IFNγ gene are associated with aplastic anemia.
