This peptide antibody is broadly cross-reactive with all members of the cadherin family of proteins including N-cadherin, E-cadherin, P-cadherin, and R-cadherin. It exhibits broad species cross-reactivity across human, bovine, mouse, rat, chicken, amphibian, and other species.
Rabbit anti-pan-Cadherin serves as a ubiquitous cadherin probe and a marker for adherens junctions.
Product 71-7100 was successfully used in immunofluorescence analysis of pan-cadherin in MDCK cells.

Target Information

Pan Cadherin (including CDH1, CDH2, CDH3, CDH4) belongs to a family of transmembrane molecules mediating calcium-dependent intercellular adhesion.
Cadherins regulate morphogenetic movements during development and control cell surface adhesion through homotypic interactions.
N-cadherin function depends on association with the actin-cytoskeleton and interactions between its C-terminal region and cytoplasmic catenin proteins.
This gene encodes a classical cadherin from the cadherin superfamily, a calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein with five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane domain, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail.
It plays roles during gastrulation and in establishing left-right asymmetry, and contributes to synaptic adhesion in the central nervous system.
