About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays use a sandwich ELISA principle with two specific antibodies binding distinct epitopes of each protein target.
Assays require only 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and yield analyzed results within four hours.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single sample.
Each bead is dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores, creating unique spectral signatures recognized by Luminex systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).
Matched antibody pairs identify target proteins, using biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE) for detection.
Unlike traditional ELISA, capture antibodies are conjugated to beads rather than adsorbed to microplate wells, allowing free-floating reagents for enhanced reaction efficiency.
