Target Information

Slug (SNAI2)는 C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factor로, Snail family에 속합니다.
이 단백질은 상피-간엽 전이(EMT)와 신경관 형성에 관여하며, FGF, BMP, TGF-beta 등의 성장인자에 의해 발현이 유도됩니다.
Slug는 E-box 영역에 결합하여 E-cadherin 및 Claudin-1과 같은 유전자의 전사를 억제합니다.
유방암, 식도암, 대장암 등 다양한 암종에서 Slug 발현은 불량한 생존 예후와 관련이 있으며,
또한 혈액세포 전구체를 방사선 유도 세포사로부터 보호하는 기능을 수행합니다 (p53 매개 Puma 전사 억제).
