Target Information
VEGF(Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor)는 45 kDa의 이황화 결합된 동종이합체 글리코단백질로, 혈관신생(angiogenesis)에 관여하여 종양의 성장과 전이를 촉진합니다.
VEGF는 혈관 내피세포의 생존, 세포 분열, 화학주성, 혈관 투과성 증가 등 다양한 생리적 효과를 유도합니다.
VEGF 패밀리에는 VEGF-A, VEGF-B, VEGF-C, VEGF-D, VEGF-E, PIGF가 포함되며, VEGF와 그 수용체 시스템은 혈관신생의 신호전달 조절에 핵심적인 역할을 합니다.
VEGF는 두 종류의 티로신 키나아제 수용체인 FLT1(VEGFR-1)과 FLK1/KDR(VEGFR-2)에 결합하며, 이들은 주로 내피세포에서 발현됩니다.
또한 FLT1의 대체 스플라이싱 형태인 sFLT1은 VEGF를 높은 친화도로 결합하여 혈관신생을 억제하는 역할을 합니다.
VEGF의 상승된 발현은 POEMS 증후군(Polyneuropathy, Organomegaly, Endocrinopathy, Monoclonal gammopathy, Skin changes)과 관련이 있습니다.
