이 단백질은 730개의 아미노산으로 구성된 다중막 통과 단백질로, 나트륨 의존성 중성 아미노산 수송체 역할을 합니다.
SLC6A15는 sodium neurotransmitter symporter (SNF) 패밀리 및 SLC6A15 서브패밀리에 속하며, chloride 비의존적 특성을 가집니다.
주로 뇌에서 발현되며, 인간 염색체 12에 위치한 유전자에 의해 암호화됩니다.
염색체 12는 1,100개 이상의 유전자를 포함하며 인간 게놈의 약 4.5%를 차지합니다.
