Target Information
Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK) belongs to the insulin receptor superfamily and plays a critical role in brain development. Mutations, rearrangements, and amplifications in the ALK gene are associated with various tumors, including anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, and non-small cell lung cancer. Chromosomal rearrangements often lead to fusion genes such as NPM-ALK, which exhibit oncogenic properties. ALK is a receptor protein-tyrosine kinase with a transmembrane domain and extracellular region, showing high sequence similarity to LTK. It is essential for neuronal development and function.
