Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody A1exF5 recognizes both human and mouse Arginase 1 (Arg1), a cytosolic enzyme.
This clone is compatible with standard intracellular staining protocols and the Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on normal human peripheral blood cells using the Intracellular Fixation & Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product #88-8824-00) and standard protocols.
Refer to BestProtocols®: Protocol A for cytoplasmic intracellular proteins.
Recommended use ≤ 1.0 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Adjust cell number empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Titrate for optimal performance.

Target Information
Arginase-1 (Arg1) is a 35 kDa enzyme that converts L-arginine to urea and L-ornithine, completing the urea cycle.
Polyamines produced are essential for cell proliferation and detoxification.
Arginase 1 down-regulates nitric oxide production by depleting substrate for NO synthase.
Expressed in liver, neutrophils, myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC), and neural stem cells in both human and mouse.
In humans, expression occurs in blood neutrophils but not CCR3+ granulocytes.
In mice, Arginase 1 marks alternatively activated macrophages (M2a).
Associated with myeloid cells infiltrating tumors and hepatocellular carcinomas.
Defects cause argininemia, an autosomal recessive disorder with hyperammonemia.
