Target Information
MINA is a nuclear localized, myc-inducible protein involved in mammalian cell proliferation.
Treatment of cancer cell lines such as SW680 with siRNA against MINA inhibits cell growth, indicating its potential as a therapeutic target.
MINA regulates genes related to cell adhesion and metabolism, some of which are c-Myc-dependent, while others (e.g., EGFR, IL-6, HGF) are independent.
It also represses IL-4 expression in T cells, suggesting a role in T cell differentiation and Th2 bias.
