The Human PD-L2 Simplex ProcartaPlex™ Kit measures PD-L2 protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, allowing creation of customized multiplex panels utilizing Luminex™ xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. When combining multiple Simplex kits (not using a pre-configured Multiplex Panel), only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of a single protein. This enables simultaneous quantitation of multiple protein targets using Luminex instruments.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single 25–50 μL sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other bodily fluids.

Luminex beads in the ProcartaPlex assay are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores, creating spectrally unique signatures identified by Luminex xMAP detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).
Similar to a sandwich ELISA, the assay uses matched antibody pairs to identify target proteins. Each spectrally unique bead is labeled with antibodies specific for a single protein, and bound proteins are detected using biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

The key difference between ProcartaPlex and ELISA is that capture antibodies are conjugated to beads rather than adsorbed to microplate wells, allowing free-floating reagents in solution. Luminex instruments use dual lasers — one for bead identification and another for RPE fluorescence quantitation — enabling multiplexed profiling with smaller sample volumes and faster analysis compared to traditional ELISA.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available across six species: human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine.
