Target Information
TYW2 (also known as TRM12) is an enzyme involved in the wybutosine-tRNA (Phe) biosynthesis pathway. Wybutosine (yW) is a hypermodified guanosine adjacent to the anticodon of phenylalanine tRNA, stabilizing codon-anticodon interactions during ribosomal decoding.
TYW2 participates in multistep enzymatic reactions that ensure correct translation by stabilizing codon-anticodon base pairing.
Amplification of TYW2 has been observed in multiple breast cancer cell lines, and qPCR analysis indicates overexpression in most breast tumor samples, suggesting its potential role in breast cancer development.
