Target Information
GPR83 is a 423 amino acid orphan member of the GPCR protein family, closely related to tachykinin and NPY receptors. It is a human homolog of mouse GIR protein and is predominantly expressed and selectively up-regulated in the brain. This cell surface receptor possesses a seven-transmembrane domain. Research suggests GPR83 may play a role in immune tolerance by inducing peripheral generation of Foxp3⁺ Treg cells.
