Target Information
14-3-3 단백질은 효모부터 포유류까지 아미노산 서열이 고도로 보존된 산성, 수용성 단백질 계열로 모든 진핵세포에서 발현됩니다. 포유류에서는 beta, gamma, epsilon, eta, zeta, sigma, tau/theta의 7가지 isoform이 각각 독립된 유전자에 의해 발현되며, homo- 및 hetero-이합체 구조를 형성합니다.
14-3-3 단백질은 100개 이상의 결합 파트너와 상호작용하며, 신호전달, 세포 주기, 전사 조절, 세포 증식, 세포사멸, 이온 채널 생리 등 다양한 생물학적 과정의 핵심 단백질을 조절합니다. 대부분의 14-3-3 결합은 표적 서열 내 serine 또는 threonine 잔기의 인산화를 필요로 합니다.
이 단백질은 뇌에 풍부하게 발현되며, 다양한 신경학적 질환 환자의 뇌척수액에서도 검출된 바 있습니다.
