Target Information
Copper is a trace element essential for organisms utilizing oxygen during respiration. CTR2 is a membrane protein and a member of the SLC31A transporter family. Although its function is not fully understood in mammalian cells, CTR2 is expected to participate in low-affinity copper uptake. It is believed to localize to lysosomes, facilitating copper delivery to the cytosol of human cells at high concentrations.
