This CTR2 antibody is useful for Western blot, where a band is seen at approximately 71 kDa.
The theoretical molecular weight of CTR2 is 15 kDa.
The difference between expected and observed size is believed to result from a multimeric form of CTR2.

Target Information
Copper is a trace element essential for organisms utilizing oxygen during respiration. CTR2 is a membrane protein and a member of the SLC31A transporter family. Although its function is not fully understood in mammalian cells, CTR2 is expected to participate in low-affinity copper uptake. It is believed to localize to lysosomes, facilitating copper delivery to the cytosol of human cells at high concentrations.
