This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, canine, chicken, mouse, non-human primates, and zebrafish based on 100% sequence homology.
Target Information
MAPK14 (p38 alpha) belongs to the stress-activated protein kinase class of MAPKs. The p38 MAPK cascade regulates various cellular responses to stress, inflammation, and other stimuli. It is inactive in the nonphosphorylated form and becomes rapidly activated by dual phosphorylation of Thr-Gly-Tyr motifs. Four isoforms of p38 MAPK differ in tissue expression and affinity for activators and effectors. Upon exposure to tumor necrosis factor, interleukin-1, heat shock, or other stimuli, MAPK kinase-3/6 phosphorylates Thr180 and Tyr182 residues of p38 MAPK, leading to activation of transcription factors such as ATF-2, CHOP-1, and MEF-2.
