Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and the contactin family, mediating cell surface interactions during nervous system development. It is a GPI-anchored neuronal membrane protein functioning as a cell adhesion molecule and may play a role in axon connection formation in the developing nervous system. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
