MA5-13304 antibody has been successfully used in IHC, IP, and Western blot procedures.
Paraffin sections require antigen retrieval pretreatment with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) prior to staining.
Use Samboni’s fixative for optimal staining results.

Target Information

Estrogen Receptors (ER) are members of the steroid/thyroid hormone receptor superfamily of nuclear receptors.
The estrogen receptor is a ligand-activated transcription factor that, upon estrogen binding, undergoes a conformational change allowing dimerization and binding to estrogen response elements (ERE) in DNA.
This binding enables ER to regulate gene transcription through recruitment of coactivator or corepressor proteins.

There are two distinct forms of estrogen receptor, alpha (ESR1) and beta (ESR2), encoded by separate genes.
At least four estrogen receptor-alpha isoforms are known (Isoform 1: 66 kDa, Isoform 2: 53 kDa, Isoform 3: 47 kDa, Isoform 4: 35 kDa).
Estrogen receptors are widely expressed and play critical roles in sexual development, reproductive function, and other tissues such as bone.
They are implicated in pathological processes including breast cancer, endometrial cancer, and osteoporosis.
