Target Information
KLHL22 (kelch-like protein 22) is a 634 amino acid protein related to the Drosophila kelch protein, which is essential for maintaining Actin organization in ovarian ring canals. Mutations affecting Kelch function lead to failure of association with ring canals and female sterility.
Human KLHL22 contains six kelch repeats and one BTB (POZ) domain. The BTB domain is an N-terminal homodimerization domain involved in transcriptional regulation through chromatin structure control. Two isoforms of KLHL22 are produced via alternative splicing.
