Target Information
Neuronal membrane glycoprotein M6-a is encoded by the GPM6A gene in humans. It is involved in neuronal differentiation and migration of neuronal stem cells, playing a key role in neuronal plasticity. GPM6A contributes to neurite and filopodia outgrowth, motility, and possibly synapse formation. Its filopodia formation is mediated through MAPK and Src signaling pathways. It may also participate in NGF-dependent Ca²⁺ influx and regulation of endocytosis and intracellular trafficking of GPCRs, enhancing internalization and recycling of mu-type opioid receptors.
