G protein-coupled receptors (GPRs), also known as seven transmembrane receptors or 7TM receptors, form a large superfamily of proteins involved in various stimulus-response pathways. They translate extracellular signals into intracellular responses through G protein activation and react to signaling molecules such as hormones and neurotransmitters.
GPR110 (G protein-coupled receptor 110), also known as PGR19, is a 911 amino acid adhesion GPCR belonging to the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family and LN-TM7 subfamily. It is a multipass membrane-bound protein with a long amino-terminus containing multiple domains, including a GPCR proteolytic site (GPS) essential for proteolytic cleavage and cell surface expression.
