FYN은 SRC 관련 키나아제(SRC-related kinase)로, 뇌, 골격근, 지방 조직에서 발현됩니다. 다양한 세포 신호 전달 경로에 관여하며, 기억 형성에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. FYN은 단백질 타이로신 키나아제 온코진 패밀리에 속하며, 세포 성장 조절에 관여하는 막 결합형 타이로신 키나아제를 암호화합니다. 이 단백질은 phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase의 p85 소단위 및 fyn-binding protein과 상호작용합니다. 대체 스플라이싱에 의해 서로 다른 isoform을 암호화하는 전사 변이체가 존재합니다.
