Product Specific Information

The XMG1.2 antibody reacts with mouse interferon (IFN) gamma and is a neutralizing antibody. Mouse IFN gamma (20 kDa) is produced by activated T, B, and NK cells, exhibiting antiviral and antiparasitic cytokine activity. It synergizes with TNF alpha to inhibit proliferation of normal and transformed cells and modulates immune responses through high-affinity receptors.

Applications Reported:
Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of stimulated mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.06 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimize titration per assay.

Fluorochrome Information:
APC-eFluor™ 780 emits at 780 nm and is excited with the Red laser (633 nm). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Light Sensitivity:
Protect vial and stained samples from light due to photo-induced oxidation sensitivity.

Samples can be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using:

Target Information

IFN gamma (Interferon gamma, Type II interferon) is a macrophage activation factor produced primarily by T-lymphocytes and NK cells in response to antigens and cytokines. It is a dimeric glycoprotein (~45 kDa) composed of two 146-amino-acid subunits. IFN gamma exhibits antiviral, antiproliferative, and immunomodulatory activity, inducing MHC class I and II expression and enhancing immunoglobulin secretion by B cells.

Human IFN gamma does not cross-react with mouse IFN gamma. Functionally, it acts via the IFN gamma receptor I/II complex, activating the JAK-STAT pathway. Expression is upregulated by IL-2, FGF basic, and EGF, and downregulated by vitamin D3 or DMN. Mutations in the IFN gamma gene are associated with aplastic anemia.
