Product Specific Information

Description:
The RB6-8C5 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Ly-6G, a 21–25 kDa protein also known as the myeloid differentiation antigen Gr-1. Gr-1 is expressed by the myeloid lineage in a developmentally regulated manner in the bone marrow. Monocytes express Gr-1 transiently during development, while granulocytes and peripheral neutrophils show strong expression, serving as markers for these populations.

eBioscience testing indicates that clone RB6-8C5 also stains cells expressing high levels of Ly6C. For Ly-6G specific targets, the 1A8-Ly6G clone (Product #9668) is recommended.

Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells. Use ≤ 0.06 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Titrate for optimal performance.

Fluorochrome Characteristics:
PE-eFluor® 610 excitation range: 488–561 nm; emission: 607 nm. Recommended filter: 610/20 band pass (PE-Texas Red® equivalent). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Light Sensitivity:
Sensitive to photo-induced oxidation; protect vial and samples from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark. Minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency. Clone-specific performance should be verified empirically.
