Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by remarkable biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. They range in molecular weight between 40 kDa and 68 kDa and in isoelectric point between pH 4.9 and 7.8. The various epithelia in the human body typically express specific cytokeratins that are characteristic of the epithelial type and related to its maturation or differentiation status.
