For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional round of desalting (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The SMN complex plays a catalytic role in the assembly of small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs), which are the building blocks of the spliceosome. It is crucial for the splicing of cellular pre-mRNAs.
Most spliceosomal snRNPs contain a common set of Sm proteins (SNRPB, SNRPD1, SNRPD2, SNRPD3, SNRPE, SNRPF, and SNRPG) that assemble in a heptameric ring on the Sm site of small nuclear RNA to form the core snRNP.
In the cytosol, Sm proteins are initially trapped in an inactive 6S pICln-Sm complex by the chaperone CLNS1A, which controls snRNP core assembly. The SMN complex dissociates CLNS1A from Sm proteins, transferring them to the SMN-Sm complex, thus triggering core snRNP assembly and nuclear transport.
