Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
The SMN complex plays a catalytic role in assembling small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs), essential components of the spliceosome. It is crucial in pre-mRNA splicing.
Most spliceosomal snRNPs contain Sm proteins (SNRPB, SNRPD1, SNRPD2, SNRPD3, SNRPE, SNRPF, and SNRPG) that form a heptameric ring on the small nuclear RNA.
In the cytosol, Sm proteins are initially bound in an inactive 6S pICln-Sm complex by chaperone CLNS1A. The SMN complex dissociates CLNS1A and transfers Sm proteins to form SMN-Sm complexes, initiating snRNP assembly and nuclear transport.
