MA5-14548 targets CD8 in IHC (P) and FACS applications and shows reactivity with Human samples.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide sequence comprising the 13 C-terminal amino acids of the cytoplasmic domain of the alpha chain of the CD8 molecule.

Target Information

Cluster of differentiation 8 (CD8) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin family. It plays an integral role in signal transduction, T cell differentiation, and activation.
CD8 is predominantly expressed on T cells as a disulfide-linked heterodimer of CD8α and CD8β, functioning as a co-receptor with T cell receptor (TCR) for MHC class I molecules.
It is also found on subsets of T cells, NK cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells as CD8α homodimers.
Engagement of MHC-I/peptide complexes triggers recruitment of Lck kinase, leading to lymphokine production, motility, and cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) activation.
Activated CTLs are crucial for pathogen and tumor cell clearance. Differentiation of naive CD8⁺ T cells into CTLs is enhanced by IL-2, IL-12, and TGF-β1.
