The SEMA3A gene encodes a secreted protein belonging to the semaphorin family, containing Ig-like C2-type, PSI, and Sema domains. Elevated expression is associated with schizophrenia and observed in various human tumor cell lines. Abnormal release is linked to Alzheimer’s disease progression.
