Target Information
SLPI is a secreted inhibitor that protects epithelial tissues from serine proteases. It is found in seminal plasma, cervical mucus, and bronchial secretions, and binds trypsin, leukocyte elastase, and cathepsin G. Its inhibitory function helps protect epithelial surfaces from endogenous proteolytic enzymes and may exhibit broad-spectrum antibiotic activity.
