Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for Mouse IL-4R/CD124.
Target Information
IL4 Receptor alpha (IL4RA) is the alpha chain of the interleukin 4 receptor, which binds to both interleukin 4 and interleukin 13 to regulate IgE production, chemokine and mucus production at sites of allergic inflammation. The IL4 response is involved in promoting Th2 differentiation.
The secreted extracellular domain of IL4R alpha (sIL4R alpha) can inhibit IL4-mediated cell proliferation and IL5 upregulation by T-cells and has no signaling abilities. Allelic variations in the IL4RA gene have been associated with atopy, which can manifest as allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, asthma, or eczema.
