Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase)는 해당과정(glycolysis)에 관여하는 촉매 효소로, 동일한 37-kDa 소단위체 4개로 구성된 사량체 형태로 존재합니다. NADPH 존재 하에서 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate를 glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate로 가역적으로 환원시키는 역할을 합니다.
GAPDH는 대부분의 조직에서 높은 수준으로 발현되며, DNA 복제 및 수선, RNA 수출, 막 융합, 미세소관 결합 등 다양한 세포 기능에도 관여합니다. 또한, 신경퇴행성 질환(알츠하이머병, 헌팅턴병 등)과 관련된 단백질과의 상호작용이 보고되어 있습니다.
이 단백질은 Western blot 분석에서 단백질 로딩 컨트롤(marker)로 널리 사용됩니다.
